Czechia to withdraw ambassador from Minsk for consultations

October 8th, 2020

The Czech Foreign Ministry will summon its ambassador in Belarus, Tomas Pernicky, for week-long consultations this week as a step of solidarity with Poland and Lithuania, which Minsk asked to withdraw their ambassadors and reduce their diplomatic presence, Zuzana Stichova said today. Stichova, the ministry's spokeswoman, told CTK that Czech diplomacy, when pondering ways to express solidarity with Poland and Lithuania, decided to summon the ambassador to Prague for consultations, which would last about one week.
