Czech military should contribute to the NATO High Readiness project with a battalion-size ground force unit, about 800 troops and some 200 to 210 pieces of equipment, Chief-of-Staff Ales Opata told media today, adding that the military was now analysing its capabilities. The NATO foreign ministers, including Czech Lubomir Metnar (for ANO), discussed the project on Wednesday and Thursday in Brussels. They agreed to launch a "4x30" concept by 2021, which means that NATO will have 30 mechanised battalions, 30 air squadrons and 30 combat vessels ready to respond within 30 days after an order is issued.
