The agreements on normalising relations between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain constitute a vital step towards peace and cooperation, Czech top elected officials have said in a joint statement. They also criticised Iran for its steps towards the development of a nuclear programme. Earlier this month, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain became the first Arab countries to have normalised relations with Israel in the past quarter of a century. Previously, it had been done by Jordan in 1994 and Egypt in 1979. Czech top politicians, headed by President Milos Zeman and Prime Minister Andrej Babis, appreciated the deals, saying they can change the dynamism of the developments in the region.
