Czech teachers' pay reaches 130 pc of national median in 2019 - CSU

The recent growth of the wages of kindergarten and elementary school teachers has improved their proportion to the median pay in the Czech Republic, reaching its 107 and 130 percent in 2019, respectively, Czech Statistical Office (CSU) experts told a press conference on Tuesday. From 2012, the proportion of kindergarten teachers' median pay stood at about 100 percent compared with the median pay of all employees for several years, and it was at 120 percent for the pay of elementary school teachers. Both proportions markedly increased mainly between 2018 and 2019.
