First Czech soldiers who are to join the Baltics mission within NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence (EFP) mission will leave the Czech Republic on Thursday and operate in Latvia as part of a multinational battalion under Canada's command for half a year. The Czech Republic is sending a mortar platoon to the EFP. Further Czech soldiers, a mechanised company of up to 230 troops, will leave for the Baltics in late June and early July to join a battalion under Germany's command in Lithuania.
