Czech police have accused a 40-year-old man from Belarus of having joined the fights in eastern Ukraine on the side of pro-Russian separatists, daily Denik N reported on Monday. The man, who has long been living in the Czech Republic, is now in prison for having caused a severe bodily injury. The man went to eastern Ukraine where he joined the separatists from the self-constituted Donetsk People's Republic several times between 2014 and 2016. He repeatedly returned to the Czech Republic during that time. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
