Media magnate Jaromir Soukup announced earlier this week on his Barrandov television station that he wanted to run in the next direct Czech presidential election due in 2023. Answering a question of one of the viewers, Soukup said on Monday he would seriously consider running for president because he had "rather good support in opinion polls", as well as name recognition. He claimed that only some 10 percent of the people strongly disliked him, which he said was good news. Soukup then confirmed that he would run. "Let's see how it will turn out," he said.
