Czech mechanised brigade tests readiness for VJFT deployment

The Czech Lizzard 2019 military exercise, which focuses on fighting of mechanised units in a very intensive conflict and checks the readiness of their deployment in the NATO Response Force, is culminating these days, Czech army representatives told CTK. In 2019-2021, the 71st mechanised battalion is part of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJFT), which is capable of quick deployment to react to potential threats to allied countries. Czech, Spanish, Polish and British battalions are part of the VJFT brigade based on the Polish 21st brigade. The VJTF land brigade has approximately 5000 troops supported by air, naval and special forces.
