Czech man sentenced to 25 years in prison for brutal murder

February 7th, 2012

The High Court in Olomouc on Tuesday increased from 22.5 years to 25 years the prison sentence that a regional court gave to a Czech man, Lukas Kopecky, for the brutal murder of a 19-year-old girl last December. The regional courts verdict was appealed by both the state attorney and the defendant. The man was strangling his girl friend and then almost totally separated her head form the body. According to the indictment, Kopecky attacked the girl because she allegedly told him she would disclose their relationship.
