Czech scientists requested access to Russia's special archives during the Czech-Russian discussion forum, a new annual event held in Prague on Thursday, Jan Nemecek, the Czech Science Academy's History Institute deputy director who attended the event, has told CTK. In the debate, experts from the two countries exchanged views on selected chapters of Czech-Russian history and discussed cooperation in the area of education. The Russian side argued in the debate that 98 percent of Russian archives have been declassified and opened to researchers already, but the Czechs insisted that the problem persists.
