The government wants to propose the promotion of Czech civilian counter-intelligence service (BIS) chief Michal Koudelka to the rank of general for the fourth time, Prime Minister Andrej Babis told CTK on Wednesday. President Milos Zeman, who criticised the BIS, refused to approve the previous three proposals. The coalition government of ANO and the Social Democrats (CSSD) is to deal with the proposal for the appointment of generals on the occasion of the October 28 national holiday on Tuesday. The president promotes military officers and presents state orders and medals on October 28, the day of the establishment of the independent Czechoslovakia in 1918.
