Czech environmentalists consider new EU emission goal still low

The Climate Coalition platform of Czech NGOs considers the new EU climate goal to lower the greenhouse gas emissions by 55 percent compared to 1990 low, but acceptable, while the ideal goal would be 65 percent, it said in a press release today. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen mentioned in the annual speech on the "State of the European Union" before the European Parliament today that the EU should cut the CO2 emissions by 55 percent in ten years.
