December 2nd, 2019

The exhibition that opens in the Czech Centre in Tokyo today presents the life story and gymnastic career of Olympic champion Vera Caslavska as well as her contribution to the deepening of Czech-Japanese relations, Jakub Valek, from the centre, has told CTK. Caslavska (1942-2016) won seven gold Olympic medals, including three at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964. A kimono she got from the Japanese imperial family is a part of the exhibition that will last until the end of January. She still has a lot of fans in Japan 55 years after the Tokyo Olympics.
