CSSD to elect new leadership on Fri

Czech Deputy Prime Minister Jan Hamacek's post as the head of the junior ruling Social Democrat (CSSD) party is not challenged in the leadership election scheduled for Friday, and so his mandate is expected to be prolonged for another two-year term. The two deputy heads, Jiri Zimola and Jaroslav Foldyna are not seeking another term. Both are supporters of the politics of President Milos Zeman, a former long-standing CSSD leader.
