The junior government Social Democrats (CSSD) have again called on the Senate to modify the tax package as its current version would help neither Czechia nor its citizens and would threaten the health and education systems, CSSD chairman and Deputy PM Jan Hamacek told reporters. If the state had not been fighting COVID-19, the CSSD would probably have stirred up a conciliation procedure with its coalition partner, the ANO movement of PM Andrej Babis, over the tax package, according to the coalition agreement, Hamacek said. However, there is no space for it during the pandemic, he added.
