The land in Prague-Strasnice district, which the employees of the State Land Office's Prague branch unrightfully gave to restitution claimants in the case of the Becvar farm, will be returned to the Czech Republic, the Prague Municipal Court ruled on Thursday. However, the verdict can still be appealed. In early July, the court sentenced two former employees of the Prague's land office to seven and six years in prison, respectively, in the case, as they had illegally adjudged the compensation land for the real estate originally belonging to Jan Maria Becvar to Emilie Bednarova. The third defendant was given a suspended prison sentence of one year with a two-year probation.
