Efforts to promote hatred and downplay the human dignity of specific groups is recurring even today, President Zuzana Caputova said on the occasion of the Roma Holocaust Commemoration Day on Friday. Caputova said that the Roma Holocaust cannot remain forgotten. "Hatred always bred evil and suffering in the history of humankind. Unfortunately, we in Slovakia also have tragic experience with fearmongering and hatred. Knowing one's own past is absolutely necessary for the present and future. Especially when hatred and fearmongering are becoming a political tool of the contemporary era once again," she said.
