From Thursday, Poland's borders with Germany, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia can only be crossed at designated places. The controls are being temporarily introduced in connection with the UN climate summit and will last until December 16. According to information provided by the Border Guard, checks will be carried out at land, air and sea crossings. Border Guard patrols will use specialised equipment including mobile terminals and so-called Schengen Buses, which enable controls outside border crossing points. "The controls are carried out at a random, which means that it is not implemented at all points 24 hours a day. The important thing is that only people entering Poland are subjected to border controls," Agnieszka Golias from the Polish Border Guard said.
