Czech ANO head Andrej Babis on Tuesday told CTK he was surprised by the "doggedness" of the police who once again asked the Chamber of Deputies for his release for prosecution over the Stork Nest case. Babis said this showed that "the old corrupt system" was afraid of him and was trying "to eliminate" him. This move by the police shows that Stork Nest is "a purely political case", Babis said, adding, at the same time, that he had expected it because "the system never sleeps." He did not comment on whether he would vote for his release again, as he did in the previous election term. Babis pointed out that the new deputies, elected in the October 20-21 general election, took their oath on Monday only.
