Babis: Czech Republic requests more EU subsidies for roads

The Czech Republic will request that more money from the regional development fund be allocated to roads and also protests the markedly lower subsidies for countryside development, Prime Minister Andrej Babis said at a meeting of Czech ambassadors today. Babis said a great risk for the successful application of European subsidies is what he calls the thematic concentration of the regional development fund, according to which at least 75 percent should be invested in supporting businesses, research, energy efficiency and ecology.
