The bones of a prehistoric animal have been found at the site of the future Brodno metro station in Warsaw's eastern Brodno district. Initial estimates put the time the aurochs lived at 6,000 B.C., Warsaw Town Hall announced on Thursday. Workers came across the bones, which could have belonged to one or two animal, eight metres underground. Shortly after, staff of the State Archaeological Museum, who appeared at the scene, identified the bones as belonging to the aurochs. Aurochs (Bos primigenius) are generally agreed to be the wild ancestor of domestic cattle (Bos taurus).
