ASZ: Roma self-government fails to fix shortcomings

Hungary's national Roma self-government ORO has largely failed to implement an action plan prepared on the basis of recommendations by the State Audit Office (ASZ), ASZ said in a statement on Wednesday. ASZ had conducted an audit of ORO in 2015 and found deficiencies in that organisation's financial controls with regard to the utilisation of targeted subsidies from the central budget. ORO prepared an action plan to fix the irregularities, however, none of its 24 assignments have been completed by the given deadline, and 14 of the assignments have not been completed at all, ASZ said.
