ANO still most popular party with wide margin

July 29th, 2019

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis's ANO would win the election to the Chamber of Deputies if it were held in July with 28.5 percent, according to a poll conducted by the Median polling agency and released today. The second place would be occupied by the opposition Pirates with 14 percent and the third by the opposition Civic Democratic Party (ODS) with 12.5 percent. The 5 percent threshold to enter the lower house would also be crossed by the anti-EU Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD), the Social Democrats (CSSD), the Communists (KSCM), the Mayors and Independents (STAN) and the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL), but not by TOP 09.
