President Janos Ader in Amman on Monday called for the European Union to increase aid to Jordan for handling refugees. At talks with King Abdullah II, Ader expressed appreciation for Jordan's efforts to accommodate refugees as well as its fight against terrorism. Ader noted that some 1.5 million people had arrived in Jordan in the past six years, raising its population by 14 percent. He said the king's efforts to preserve peace within Jordan were "exemplary" and crucial for maintaining stability in the region. Both leaders said bilateral relations were excellent. Ader invited Abdullah to visit Hungary, which the king accepted.
