Accepting refugee kids not to harm Czech view on quotas - Petricek

December 2nd, 2019

Voluntary accepting children from Greek refugee camps would not harm the Czech position against the quotas to redistribute migrants across EU member states, Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek told journalists today. "Both Czech government parties, the CSSD and ANO, clearly say that we oppose the compulsory quotas," Petricek said. He said the Czech Republic puts emphasis on a long-term solution of the migration causes in the countries of its origin. It is the government that should make the final decision whether to accept the children or not, he said.
