All V4 countries want to improve the quality and transparency of the tertiary education through reforms and system changes enhancing public confidence in tertiary education and in concrete universities. These changes should improve the results of the universities in international comparisons. The participants agreed on several common steps: setting quality standards and professionalization of accrediting agencies; intoduction of a transparent system of information access; establishment of a working group of V4 Ministries, aimed at modernization of the tertiary education area, including evaluation.
