Zeman thanks statespersons, Pope for solidarity with South Moravia

July 2nd, 2021

Czech President Milos Zeman sent letters of gratitude to Slovak and Austrian presidents Zuzana Caputova and Alexander Van der Bellen, further statespersons and Pope Francis for their solidarity in connection with a tornado that recently swept South Moravia, the presidential website said on Friday. Zeman wrote to Caputova thanking her for the solidarity with Czech citizens affected by the tornado. He expressed his appreciation for the great wave of solidarity and financial aid that Slovakia had provided, as well as for the work of Slovak rescuers who helped in the rescue mission. Similar letters were addressed to Van der Bellen, Pope Francis, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Montenegro President Milo Djukanovic and Hereditary Prince and Regent of Liechtenstein Alois.
