President Milos Zeman signed on Thursday an amendment on the taxation of financial compensation the churches receive from the state for their confiscated property that cannot be returned, Zeman's spokesman Jiri Ovcacek told journalists. However, the taxation can still be cancelled by the Constitutional Court. Some lawmakers are planning to challenge the legislation, arguing that it is in conflict with the constitution.
