Zeman signs bill on school days off, online teaching over Covid

February 4th, 2022

Czech school principals will be able to declare special time off for up to ten days if a high number of teachers have to be quarantined for Covid, or declare distance instruction under the government bill that President Milos Zeman has signed into law, his spokesman told CTK on Friday. The piece of legislation takes effect a day after its promulgation in the Law Digest. Under the law, submitted by Education Minister Petr Gazdik, the parents of schoolchildren under ten will also be entitled to nursing benefits of up to 80 percent of their pay if their children had online classes or special days off.
