October 15th, 2019
President Milos Zeman and Prime Minister Andrej Babis supported higher investments in the Czech military and its upgrades in their speeches at a ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the General Staff's establishment today. The Czech Republic lags behind in the armament of its military whose equipment is in a bad shape, Babis said. He expressed regret at the decline of the arms industry in the country after the 1989 fall of the Communist regime. Zeman expressed support for Czech participation in foreign missions.
