Zeman apologises for 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia

May 18th, 2021

Czech President Milos Zeman apologised for the NATO bombing of then Yugoslavia in 1999 and asked the Serbian nation for forgiveness, he said after his talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday. In 1999, the Czech Republic had been looking for an ally together with whom it would reject the bombing, but it had not found any, said Zeman, who was prime minister then.
