The appeals Regional Court in Ostrava has tightened the sentence for false accusation imposed on Petra Nova who claimed to have been raped by prison guards, daily Denik wrote in its regional issue on Thursday. Previously, the District Court in Opava charged her with eight months in prison over false testimony. However, the Regional Court concluded today that it was a false accusation. Therefore, the punishment was changed into two years' imprisonment. Nova was sentenced to 30 years in prison over a murder of a coin and stamp collector in 2017 that she committed with her former husband Jaroslav Janak. Nevertheless, she got pregnant in jail and said she had been raped by prison guards in Opava.
