Two months after the first case of African swine fever in Slovakia was identified, with the virus subsequently localised solely in the district of Trebisov (Kosice region), a dead adult wild boar with the virus has been found elsewhere - in a hunting area near Velke Kapusany in the district of Michalovce (Kosice region), TASR has learnt from Daniel Hrezik of the Agriculture Ministry's communications and marketing department. "A total of 16 cases of African swine fever in Slovakia have been registered in wild boars and 11 in domestic pigs to date. Samples from wild boars are constantly being examined at the National Reference Laboratory in Zvolen," said Hrezik.
