Wielkopolska Motorway loses EU court case over public aid refund

A European Union court on Thursday rejected a claim of Wielkopolska Motorway (AW) company against the European Commission (EC), which had ordered the company to repay to Poland 894 million zlotys (EUR 209m) plus interest of unlawful public aid. The European Commission ordered Autostrada Wielkopolska to repay around 895 million zlotys in 2017 as it found AW had received excessive amounts in compensation.
