Czech general practitioners should see their powers expanded and share it with assisting nurses, the Czech J. E. Purkyne Medical Association has written in a press release after a Prague meeting of the Visegrad Four (V4) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) officials. The V4 countries (Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) all face a shortage of doctors and nurses. The WHO recommends creating teams of primary care in which the role of nurses would be enhanced and their powers expanded.
