Wearing of face masks in primary school classes optional as of Monday

October 1st, 2021

Pupils at primary schools won't be obliged to wear face masks in class any more as of Monday, October 4, but masks remain mandatory for them in school corridors, canteens, hallways, changing rooms and toilets, according to a Public Health Office (UVZ) decree. "The wearing of face masks remains mandatory for children in higher grades and for children taking part in mass events," added UVZ's communications department. The change doesn't apply to secondary school students, either, as experts assume that come into contact with more people.
