Volvo's Polish plant sells 817 hybrid buses in 15 months

Volvo Polska's bus manufacturing plant in Wrocław, south Poland, sold and received orders for 817 hybrid buses between January 2018 and April 2019, with most vehicles being exported to the United Kingdom, Spain and Belgium. More than 80 such buses were sold to domestic customers. Volvo Polska's Anna Nojszewska told PAP on Tuesday that since the start of production in 2010, the plant has produced more than 4,000 hybrid buses to customers from 23 countries. Volvo's full hybrid buses emit up to 39 pct less CO2 compared to their typical diesel-powered counterparts, Nojszewska said, adding that the buses do not need any charging infrastructure as the batteries are charged while the bus is engine-braking.
