Volkswagen Slovakia's Bratislava plant hailed as best of group

For the second time in a row, the Bratislava-based Volkswagen Slovakia plant has received the 'Transformer of the Year' award for the biggest progress made in increasing efficiency among all Volkswagen production plants over the past year, company spokesperson Lucia Kovarovic Makayova told TASR on Friday. All the group's plants are supposed to increase their efficiency by 30 percent by 2025, but the Bratislava plant was able to largely meet this goal as early as last year. This also contributed towards gaining production of new generations of the Volkswagen Passat and Skoda Superb models. In addition, the already approved shift in production will bring along investment of up to 500 million euros.
