Voice-SD: Extension of state of emergency 'attack on democracy'

The further extension of the state of emergency is an "attack on democracy and civil rights" in Slovakia, the extra-parliamentary Voice-SD party said in reaction to parliament's approval of this move earlier on Friday. Voice-SD views it as "unacceptable" for the government to become used to such a state of affairs as the norm, rather than seeking other ways to manage the pandemic in a more acceptable manner. It's opposed to lockdowns and bans on assembly becoming standard, as this is "interference in fundamental human rights". Voice-SD MPs, who operate in parliament as independents, did not back the extension of the state of emergency.
