Visnove tunnel construction probe reveals need for large-scale repairs

A detailed diagnostic probe into the construction of the 7.5-kilometre Visnove tunnel near Zilina has shown that large-scale repair work is required. Skanska SK, the contractor of the Lietavska Lucka-Visnove-Dubna Skala D1-motorway stretch, of which the tunnel forms part, has said that it is unable to say at the moment how much the repairs will cost. At an online briefing on Monday, the contractor's representatives said that the company is working on updating the construction schedule with the National Motorway Company (NDS) and is assessing the possibility of accelerating the work.
