The University of Theatre and Film Arts (SZFE) will need a new leadership and new employees, Attila Vidnyanszky, the recently appointed head of the university's supervisory board, told public Kossuth Radio on Thursday. SZFE's senate and leadership announced their resignation on Monday, saying the foundation that took over the university on Sept. 1 under a government decree had deprived them of "all essential powers". Students cordoned off SZFE on Tuesday, preventing the new leadership from starting work. Vidnyanszky, who also heads Hungary's National Theatre, met the outgoing leadership on Wednesday, and told Kossuth Radio after the talks that their opinions "differ on all important issues".
