Veterinarians want complete ban on big cats in circuses

The taming and rearing of big cats no longer fulfils an educational purpose and should be banned without exceptions, Czech Association of Veterinarians for Wild and Zoo Animals (CAZWV) President Zdenek Knotek has said at a press briefing. The Czech parliament is preparing an amendment to the animal protection law, to be debated soon. According to the Circuses Together initiative, an organisation that brings together large Czech circuses, the CAZWV's position is unfounded.
