Uyghur advocate, Balkan youth win Havel Human Rights Prize

September 30th, 2019

The Vaclav Havel Human Rights Prize for 2019 went to Uyghur advocate in China Ilham Tohti and the Youth Initiative for Human Rights group in the Balkans, the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) announced on Monday. The prize is annually awarded by the PACE in cooperation with the Vaclav Havel Library and the Charter 77 Foundation.
