US trying hard to abolish visas for Poles - Polish president's spokesman

The Americans are doing everything today to have visas for Poland abolished - Polish president's spokesman Blazej Spychalski told a public TV broadcaster TVP Info on Thursday. Referring to the US 'Visa Waiver for Poland' campaign, that US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher is doing "a huge job" to make this happen. In late April, the US Embassy launched a campaign inviting Poles to apply for a US visa with a view to reducing, by the end of September, the percentage of refusals to below 3 percent, which is required for the country to enter the visa waiver programme.
