US embassy, foreign ministry mark Velvet Revolution anniversary

The US embassy and the Slovak foreign ministry marked the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution by a commemorative cycling ride alongside the former "iron curtain" on Friday. Representatives of diplomatic missions, the foreign ministry, and civil society made a 30-kilometre long route leading from Bratislava's borough of Zahorska Bystrica to the Gate of Freedom memorial under Devin Castle.
