Unemployment rate in Slovakia up to 7.2 pc in May

The unemployment rate in Slovakia reached 7.2 percent in May, up by 0.63 percentage points (p.p.) month-on-month and by 2.32 p.p. year-on-year, according to data published by the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Centre (UPSVR) on Friday. In May of last year the unemployment rate stood at 4.88 percent. The number of jobseekers immediately able to start work stood at 198,256 in May, going up by 9.68 percent m-o-m and by 47.82 percent y-o-y.
