Two-thirds of Slovaks aged between 16 and 74 were using internet banking last year, spending up to 20 euros daily in this way, according to Eurostat figures for 2020 processed by FinGO.sk analyst Lenka Buchlakova. This service has started to be used more widely partly due to cash payment restrictions in response to the spread of coronavirus. However, it's also a long-term trend, as the number of internet banking users has more than tripled over the past decade, Buchlakova said.
