Trnava to be 2020 European City of Sport

The European Capitals and Cities of Sport Federation (ACES Europe) has awarded the city of Trnava the European City of Sport 2020 title. ACES Europe President Gian Francesco Lupattelli said in a letter via which he informed Trnava about the news that the city led by example in the area of sports and appreciated its sports facilities, programmes and activities. "The title is a sign that when it comes to sports Trnava is on the right track. It also means a better position for applying for finances meant for investments in sports infrastructure and it also makes us more visible at home and abroad," Trnava mayor Peter Brocka said.
