Trade minister: Czechia wants to be leader in renewal of Ukraine

August 22nd, 2022

Czechia would like to be a leader in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, Industry and Trade Minister Jozef Sikela told a meeting of Czech ambassadors in Prague on Monday, adding that the key task was to secure European funding for this purpose. He said his ministry's priorities were to ensure Czechia's security in terms of energy, raw materials and sources, active aid to companies to help them succeed in foreign markets and an enhancement of cooperation in the EU. The Ukrainian side has prepared a document defining their needs related to the renewal of critical infrastructure in the wake of the Russian invasion, Sikela said, adding that his ministry has established Business Club Ukraine (Business klub Ukrajina) as a platform to interconnect the information about Ukraine's demand with Czech companies' offers.
