Slovakia improved its ranking in the perception of corruption, ending up 56th out of 180 countries, which amounts to a year-on-year leap up by four places, Kristina Krokova of Transparency International Slovakia (TIS) told TASR on Wednesday. The corruption perception index is drafted annually by Transparency International. Slovakia also recorded higher score this year, increasing from 49 to 52 points out of 100. "The current improvement can be attributed to the incumbent Government and institutions. Last year's decline were mostly the doings of the previous cabinet of Peter Pellegrini," claimed TIS director Michal Pisko.
